Amy A. Panella

Amy A. Panella, 91, passed away July 20, 2017, after a long decline.  Born Amelia Antionette Iafelice in Willoughby, Amy graduated high school from Andrews School for Girls, married Pat Panella in 1950 and moved to Akron.  They moved to Revere Dr in Cuyahoga Falls in 1957.

She has been a member of  Immaculate Heart of Mary Church since 1957.  She raised two children, David and Linda. Amy worked part time at Montgomery Ward for 22 years.  She also was in a bowling league at Northgate and later Legends Lanes and bowled into her mid-80’s.   She walked to work, and church and often took the bus to shop at Chapel Hill Mall.

She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed her family and extended family to the fullest.  She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends and supported the ministries of Immaculate Heart, with baked goods and casseroles for over 40 years.  She managed all of this without an unkind word, or having a hair out of place and always accessorized.  She had a very giving spirit and touched the lives of all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by husband Pat, of 61 years; her son, David; brother, Carmen Iafelice; sister, Dovelia “Dee” Mastrangelo.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Baratuci and son-in-law James, Baratuci; grandchildren, Amy (Greg) Ballash, and Nicholas Baratuci; and great-grandson, Levi Patrick Ballash.  Many thanks to the staff at the Gables of Hudson and Clearpath Hospice for their compassion and care.

Mass of Christian Burial 11a.m. Monday, July 24 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic  Church.
