Curtis Cousino Obituary

Curtis Charles Cousino, age 74, peacefully went to heaven on Sunday, April 14 while streaming Mass from the hospital with his loving wife Eileen. In the days leading up to his death, he was surrounded by his adoring family as they told stories and laughed about cherished memories. He will be missed immensely by his wife Eileen, son Curtis III (Bobbie), Garret, Danielle (Keith), Collin, and Catherine (Andrew). He was so proud of his grandchildren Curtis (Erika), Max, Gavin, Dahlia, Nikolas, Veronica, Michael, and his only great granddaughter, Charlotte (Curtis and Erika). He also leaves behind his dog and partner in crime Molly and his longtime business partner Larry Muetzel along with his sisters and brothers-in-law. He is preceded in death by his parents Doris and Curtis Cousino, his sister and brother-in-law Mary Lou and Shannon Best, brother Richard, and daughter Marie.

He grew up in the Clark/Fulton neighborhood to Doris and Curtis. He attended West Tech High School, and in high school when he was 16, he met the love of his life Eileen Green after he was set up on a blind date. Lucky him! He served in the US Navy in the Mediterranean. When he got home, he welcomed his first son Curtis Charles Cousineau III, then Garret, and his first daughter Danielle in Parma. After the loss of his daughter Marie, Eileen and Curt welcomed Collin, moved to Akron, and had Catherine as a housewarming gift.

He was an incredibly gifted artist: a gardener, a potter, a painter, a crocheter, a drawer, and a sewer. He avidly traveled and cherished time with his family doing so. His favorite place he went was Thailand. He created a legacy that is a testament to the love and loyalty he established with his entire family. He is looking down on us smiling from heaven with a big bowl of popcorn and a pot of chicken soup on the stove.

The family will accept visitors at 10:15 AM prior to the service. Funeral service will be held at St. Hilary parish, 2750 W. Market Street, Fairlawn, OH 44333 on Monday, April 22 at 11:00 AM. Light refreshments will follow in the church gathering area. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Akron Chesterton Academy Scholarship Fund.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
