Sister M. Luin, F.D.C Obituary

Sister M. Antoinette Luin, F.D.C., a faithful Daughter of Divine Charity for 71 years passed away peacefully into the waiting arms of Jesus on March 21, 2024. Sister Antoinette was born on May 10, 1930, to the parents Frank and Antoinette Luin (Miklovcic) and baptized Frances. Sister Antoinette entered religious life in 1948 and professed her first vows on November 20, 1950. She made “God’s Love visible” through her commitment of Service to the Congregation/Province as Teacher, Superior, Provincial Superior, Novice Directress, Councilor, a Delegate to various Chapters and as the Administrator of Leonora Hall. Her legacy, that of a listening ear and promise of prayers while always putting the needs of others first and living our motto “All for God, for the Poor and for our Congregation”. Her prayerfulness, generous heart, and joy filled life as a religious Daughter of Divine Charity was clearly visible by the added smile and words of comfort. Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Antoinette Miklovcic; God Parents, Jerry and Mary O’Korn; brother, Anthony; sisters, Theresa and brother-in-law Thomas Skertic and Sophie Luin. Survived by her niece, Mary Frances Lombardi, great nephews, Dominico, Luigi and Rocco. She will be missed by all those whose lives she has touched especially her religious community, family, cousins, relatives in the US and Slovenia, the residents/families she served at Leonora Hall and friends.Thank you to her faithful caregivers and staff at St. Edwards for their loving care. Visitation will be on April 1, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Leonora Hall Convent 39 N. Portage Path, Akron, Ohio prior to the Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. Luncheon will follow the Mass with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Leonora Hall Residence or to the Daughters of Divine Charity.
