Gary R. Meyers

Gary R. Meyers, age 67, passed away unexpectedly April 5, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Akron and was preceded in death by his parents, Lambert G. and Cecile F. Meyers.

A member of Fairlawn Lutheran Church, where he married his wife Beverly, of 34 years. He was a loving and devoted husband and father of Christopher and Joshua; cousin of Pam Benson (Brian), Sandy Kiper (Ellis) and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Gary proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam era with Aircav Troop, 11th Armored Calvary regiment, 1969-1971.

He proudly worked for The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as a lieutenant in global security and investigation service for 43 years, where he leaves behind many cherished friends.

Gary loved and valued his family and friends. He was a baseball coach for both his sons, loved animals especially his dog, being outdoors, boating and fishing. His love of cars and motor sports inspired his sons to follow in his footsteps.

Calling hours 4-7pm Monday, April 10, 2017 at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd, Fgairlawn,OH 44333.

Pastor James Gau will officiate funeral services 11:15am Tuesday, April 11th at Fairlawn Lutheran Church, 3415 W. Market St, Fairlawn 44333, and where friends may call 10:15am until service time.

Interment Rose Hill Burial Park, where VFW Firestone Post 3383 will conduct military services.

We are so sorry for your loss, may your memories help comfort you during this time. Gary was a great guy and we will truly miss him.

My sincere thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Gary Meyers. I hope the words found at Rev 21:3,4 offers much encouragement and comfort to those who loved Gary.
