Willie Zwisler, age 71, joined sweet mom Joan and cool dad Don in heaven on August 8, 2021.
Will was born in Akron on June 1, 1950 and raised on North Hill. He graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1968 where he remains one of the Fighting Irish favorite sons! He retired from Ruhlin Construction after 30 years, where he was known as a hard working guy who could make a shovel get tired!
Will loved football and baseball and riding his Harley, a die hard Browns fan he was just starting to enjoy watching them again!
His love of sports and riding his bike paled in comparison to his love of family and friends! Quiet and cool, he was Janet's devoted buddy, the best dad ever to Josh and Jamie and his favorite daughter-in-law, Christy and the worlds greatest “Pops” to Aidan and Mason.
He will be missed by a million Edes and Gilbrides, and a half a million Zwislers and a laundry list of the most outstanding group of loving friends in history!
We are renaming calling hours to “super casual calling hours,” we're talking your favorite khaki shorts and put on your favorite t-shirt and ball cap! Browns, Harley Davidson, St. VM, Ohio State, Notra Dame, Hawaiian Shirts and of course tie-dye apparel, a favorite of Willie for sure! No jacket, ties or formality-chill is the word of the day!
A celebration of his life will be held Sunday 1-8p.m. at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 S MILLER RD IN FAIRLAWN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12p.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 164 W. Market St. Akron, 44303, PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
Donations to St. VM High School, ALS Assn., Leukemia, Lymphoma Society or St. Jude's.
“There must be those among us with whom we can weep, and still be counted as warriors”
