William (Bill) Frederick Grossjung

William (Bill) Frederick Grossjung age 87 passed away peacefully in Ohio on March 12th 2022 after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease.

Bill was born August 31st, 1934 in Queens NY and graduated from Mineola High School.  He enlisted in the United States Navy at 17 years of age and proudly served in the Korean War.  He was a Platoon leader in boot camp and was awarded with the Honor Man award.  Bill became a Nassau County Police officer in 1957 where he served his community for 32 1/2 years before retiring to Daytona Beach Florida.

Bill stayed active as a condo board member, enjoyed boating and fishing, taught his grandchildren how to boggie board and swim in the ocean.  He liked watching romantic comedy movies and playing board games and cards with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the Rummy King per Henry his great grandchild . Bill traveled across the USA visiting National and State parks with his family and enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean with his wife. 

Bill enjoyed life to the fullest through music, dancing, watching cartoons with his children, going to sports games, the Bronx zoo and being with friends.  He could always turn a frown into a smile.  He will be remembered for his devotion to family, great listening skills and being a very caring fun loving person.

Bill was preceded in death by both parents, Muriel and Frederick Grossjung.  Devoted and loving husband of sixty five years to Arlene (Beck). Proud father of Wendy Brolly, Bart Grossjung and Glenn Grossjung and grandfather to nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Friends and Family will be received Wednesday March 16th from 4-7pm at Ciriello and Carr Funeral home. 810 Portage Trail Cuyahoga Falls Ohio.  Mass of Christian Burial at St Eugene's Church in Monroe Falls OH March 17th at 11am.  Burial will be at Holy Rood Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum in Westbury NY on Saturday March 19th at 10:30 am
