Wendi Lynn Knowles

Wendi Lynn Knowles, 61, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on 21 December 2021 from a short illness related to Covid at the Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls.

Wendi was born on 25 April 1960 in Ft. Sill Oklahoma to the late Col. Charles and Mary Ann Sperow. Her father Charles, an Active-Duty Army Officer, was stationed at bases throughout Italy, Germany and Indonesia where she lived and attended local schools. She took classes through the University of New Mexico and Hawaii.

Wendi moved to Ohio with her young family where she began attending Grace Cathedral. Wendi enjoyed singing in the Grace Cathedral choir, volunteering, and arts and crafts. Her love of travel continued into service within the church as she volunteered for mission trips. She worked at the University of Akron for 16 years in various departments until 2015 when she started working for WBNX TV station.

Wendi will be remembered for her caring nature. She was well known for sending out cards to family and friends for all occasions. You would never find her without a smile on her face.

She will be missed by her children, Adam of Smithville, Renee of Bangor, Maine, Stephen (Mandy) of Springfield Lake; her older sister, Stori of Atlanta, Georgia; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend Frank Rogers.

Funeral services will be held 1p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Grace Cathedral Akron, where friends may call 12-1. Interment a Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
