Tricia E. Phillips died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on May 3rd , 2021.
Tricia was born to Robert and Gertrude Osborne of Akron, OH on July 30th, 1941. She was a graduate of our Lady of the Elms class of 1959. Tricia continued her education at The Ohio State University and graduated from The University of Akron with a major in science and education. She then taught elementary school in Akron, Ohio. She left teaching to raise her family of 4. She then moved on to be a valued employee of the First National Bank of Ohio for many years. While working at the bank and many years into retirement, she worked for H & R Block doing taxes, which she loved because of her love for helping people.
Tricia was a compassionate, loving, kind and patient mother. She enjoyed vacationing with her family. They camped and boated their way through Ohio, PA, KY, D.C. and many other states. She loved reading and playing bridge in her spare time. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. Some of her best memories were doing makeup with her granddaughters over the years and sitting around the campfire playing games.
Tricia is preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Phillips; son in law, Troy Metzner; brother, Robert Osborne Jr.; and parents, Robert and Gertrude Osborne. She is survived by her 4 children, Ellen (Phillips) Metzner of Conway, SC and her children Caitlin (Metzner) West and Kara (Metzner) Ciaston and grandson-in-law, Nick Ciaston; James (Robyn) Phillips of Springfield Twp., OH and their children Tristan, Cassidy, Natalie, Brandon, and Jocelyn; Sean (Janeen) Phillips of Brimfield Twp., OH and their children Savannah and Aidan; Matthew (Catherine) Phillips of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and their children Jared, Ian, Alexis, Isaac, Isabella, and Olivia. Tricia is also survived by her brothers, David (Kate) Osborne and Tom (Deborah) Osborne; sisters-in-law, Sue (Linc) Hackim, Nancy (Bob) Eggers, and June (Jim) Meech and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a dual service for Tricia and her husband Donald J. Phillips, who passed away on April 1st, 2020.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Sebastian Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday July 17th, 2021. Family and friends may visit from 10:00-11:00 A.M. with Mass directly after.
