Thomas J. Assad, Jr., age 76, passed away May 15, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Tom was born August 29, 1944 in Cleveland. A graduate of Benedictine High School, he was licensed as one of the youngest stock brokers in Cleveland and later worked in sales. 

Tom approached life with a childlike heart, strength, energy, humor, and found joy in making people laugh with his jokes and impressions. He loved people and was a kind and loyal friend to many. Tom cherished spending time with his family and will be missed as the life and heart of parties and game nights. Half Lebanese, Tom lived his culture and excelled at playing the Lebanse drums. Half Italian, he was the ultimate fan of Godfather movies and cannolis. Always Mr. Cool, Tom was an impeccable dresser, never without monogrammed shirts, cufflinks, and pocket squares. 

Tom had a deep relationship with Christ, a devotion to Divine Mercy, and was dedicated to his Catholic faith. In his last years, while in Arizona lovingly accompanying his wife as she cared for her mother, Tom volunteered managing renovations of St. Joseph Maronite Catholic Church. With his unique talents in negotiating, management, and decorating, the results were also impeccable. 

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Jackie and Tom Assad. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; their daughter, Rosanne Rohana; first wife, Dianne; their children, Dina (Dave) Draeger and Lori Assad; siblings, Sylvia Holloway, Joseph (Martha) Assad, Gina (Mark) Banyasz; adored niece, Jackie (JC) Criswell, their children, Layla and Tommie; and many extended family.

The family will receive friends from 2pm-5pm on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Homes, 39 S. Miller Rd. Fairlawn, OH 44333. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on May 24 at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St., Fairlawn, OH,   and can be watched live at:  http://sthilarychurch.org/live/

Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Rd. Brook Park, OH 44142.
