Theodore Chuparkoff was born May 8, 1931, and passed away November 14, 2024. He was 93 years old.
Preceded in death by father Sam Chuparkoff and mother Anna (Ignace) Chuparkoff, and brothers George and Jerome, he is survived by loving wife, Margaret (Rusnak) Chuparkoff, and his six children: Kenneth Chuparkoff and wife, Peggy; Karen Lefton and husband, Doug; Theodore Chuparkoff; Christine Herche; Michael Chuparkoff and wife, Aimee; and Mark Chuparkoff, along with five grandchildren, Audrey, Kenneth, Marie, Catherine and Devin, and two great-grandchildren, Nora and Conor.
Ted was born in Youngstown and was a proud 1949 graduate of Struthers High School. He and Margaret married in June 1955. He obtained a degree in mechanical engineering from Youngstown State University in 1954 and his law degree from the University of Akron in 1962. Theodore and Margaret moved to Akron in 1955 where Ted became a member of the prosecutor’s office before going into private law practice. He practiced law for over 50 years. Among other things, he will be remembered for his relentless work ethic, dogged tenacity, love of the law, and valuing of education.
Calling hours will be Thursday, November 21 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd., Fairlawn, OH 44333, followed immediately by a funeral prayer service at the funeral home, Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, and a luncheon afterwards (location TBD).
In his memory, donations can be made to the Youngstown State University Foundation Endowment-Chuparkoff Family Scholarship, which Ted established in 2007 to provide scholarships for minority students seeking to major in math, engineering or the sciences.
