Sue Banyar's (nee DiNicola) sunrise was March the 20th, the first day of spring in 1926, and her sunset was March 13th, 2023. She was a week shy of her 97th birthday.
Susie was the second youngest in a big Italian family and she was all about family. She had a heart of gold, and truly was the secret hero of her family over her long life. She and her husband of 73 years, Alex, ran the bookstore at The University of Akron for over 35 years.
Preceded in death by parents, Julius and Rose DiNicola; brothers, Joseph, Ralph, and Nicholas; and sisters, Frances Wilson and Clara Stolfo.
Susie will always be remembered as an angel incarnate by; daughters, Carol (Robert) Sample, Cheryl (Loren) Rueschman; grandson, Erik Rueschman, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Remember Italian family, there's a lot of them, so if you're related to this wonderful lady you know who you are.
Susie's family would like to thank the staff of Wayne County Care Center for such great and compassionate care in her final months.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10a.m. April 15, 2023 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, where friends may call 9a.m. until Mass time.
Inurnment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
For those who wish, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Life Care Hospice in Wooster, Ohio.
