Stephen Michael Brustoski

Stephen Michael Brustoski transitioned from his earthly body to his eternal home in heaven on January 6, 2022. 

He was born in Akron, Ohio February 3,1952 to Margaret and Stephen Brustoski. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sharon; his son, Michael (Marina) Brustoski; daughter, Kristin (Nathan) Donze; granddaughter, Adriana Brustoski; sister, Patricia (Joseph) Konkiel, and many other loving family and friends.

The most important element in his life was his relationship with Jesus. His love for the Lord reflected in all that he did and his ability to love others. He was an elder at his church, CrossPoint Alliance and enjoyed the time he spent there, from leading Bible studies, prayer meetings, mentoring others, and helping oversee administrative aspects of his church.

A graduate of North High School ‘69, they were a close-knit group and he enjoyed many class reunions and functions together with them. He graduated from The University of Akron with a degree in electrical engineering. He was a licensed professional engineer that worked for FM Global as a loss prevention engineer for 40 years before retiring in 2014.

He enjoyed many activities throughout his lifetime. He was an assistant Boy Scout master for 12 years for troop 390 and went on many hiking and back packing trips with his son. He went on 5 mission trips to the Dominican Republic and felt blessed to get to know the culture and minister to the people of that area. He loved hiking many local park trails with his wife and completing the fall hiking sprees. He enjoyed several vacations around the world with her, including tours through Europe, Australia, and Israel. One of the happiest events in recent years was the birth of his granddaughter Adriana.

Calling hours will be held at CrossPoint Alliance Church located at: 855 Rothrock Rd Akron OH 44321 on Friday January 14th from 4pm-7pm and on Saturday January 15th 10:30am-11:30am with a service to follow at 11:30am. Masks and social distancing required. Private interment with immediate family only will follow. If unable to attend, you can live stream it at crosspointakron.org by clicking on the link titled Sunday service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to CrossPoint Alliance Church.
