Dominican Sister of Peace Sister Juanita Henley died at Regina Health Center, Richfield, OH on December 4, 2024. She was born in 1932 and in 1948 entered the Sisters of St. Dominic of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, now the Dominican Sisters of Peace.
Sr. Juanita earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from St. John’s Teachers College in Cleveland, OH, and Master of Education in Reading Education from Kent State University. She ministered as an elementary school teacher at Our Lady of Elms school in Akron and schools in Ravenna and Marietta, OH. She celebrated her Golden Jubilee as a Dominican Sister in 2000.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Margaret Haffner Henley, and her siblings, Ray, Yvonne, Ramona, and Sister Rosemary, OP. She is survived by her siblings, Richard (Pam), Patricia Heaton, Marilyn Guinter (William), and her nieces and nephews.
A wake and funeral service for Sr. Juanita will be held on December 11, 2024, at Regina Health Center, 5232 Broadview Rd, Richfield, Ohio. The Wake and viewing will begin at 10 am, followed by the funeral Mass at 11 am. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
