Siegfried (Fred) Leipold

Siegfried (Fred) Leipold passed away January 29, 2022. He was born on 9/1/43 in Yugoslavia and immigrated to the U.S. in 1950. He worked as a microbiologist for the Akron City Health Dept. and retired as Lab Director. He was a charter member of the German Family Society and actively participated. His final moments were at the G.F.S. surrounded by his family and friends dancing a final tango with his wife. We love and miss him and know that he is playing his accordion for the angels above.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Anton, sisters Teresia, Betty Pilz (Joe), brother-in-law Frank Nagy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Betty; children, Brian Leipold, Lisa Blaser (Scott); grandkids, Nathan, Natalie, Nicole; siblings, Anna Stagl (Rudy-deceased), Horst Leipold (Erika), Helga Huiber (Otto), sister-in-law Kyong Bailey (Tom) and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held 2-4p.m, Friday February 4th at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 810 Portage Tr in Cuyahoga Falls.
