Sharlene Marie Sigmund

Sharlene Marie Sigmund, (age 76) was born November 22, 1949 in Akron to John and Marie Sigmund and died May 11, 2026.  She was the sixth of eight children,  she was raised in Norton and Akron.  She graduated from Buchtel High School. 

Sharlene raised her three children in Ashland Ohio.  Later she moved back to Cuyahoga Falls.  She collected unicorns and she loved taking walks with her friends.  Sharlene was a devoted Catholic and loved attending mass.  She was a member of ST. Eugene's Catholic Church where she attended bible study. Sharlene was a loving mother who was always there for her kids and would have done anything for them. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved taking them to the park to feed the ducks, she also would take a week vacation to her daughter's house to spend time with her grandchildren over the years.  She was a great friend to many and loved to talk on the phone. She was always there for you whether you needed someone to laugh or cry with. She was a great listener, she would give you her last dollar. She loved vacationing with her kids at the ocean. As she got older she loved taking endless car rides with her daughter. There were many times they would find themselves in new towns attending mass at local Catholic Churches.  She had a special relationship with all her kids, she and her son would always leave each other money under the plates each to find. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Judy Carter, brother John Sigmund, brother -in-laws, Paul Anstead, Robert Crater and Steve Ladich. She leaves behind her three children, Lisa Simone, Jill (Scott) Phillips, and Joe Simone, three granddaughters Alainna Simone, Jessica Phillips, and Taylor (Nathan) Simmons, and a bonus grandchildren Robert Phillips and Elizabeth Phillips. She has five great grandchildren and five bonus great grandchildren.  

Sharlene is survived by sister's, Johanne Anstead, Linda Ladich, Mary Catherine Schaffer, Pauline (James) Bartlett and brother Joseph Sigmund. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. 

Calling hours will be this Wednesday, May 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ciriello and Carr Chapel, 810 Portage Trail., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221.

Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, May 14 at 11 a.m. at St. Eugene's Catholic Church, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron, Ohio.
