Rosemary "Rose" Passeos

Rosemary "Rose" Passeos (née Thompson), 73, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on August 21, 2024. Born on March 31, 1951, in Akron, Ohio. Rose graduated from Our Lady of the Elms High School and went on to receive her college degree from the dental hygiene program at Cuyahoga Community College. She began her career as a dental hygienist and later found her entrepreneurial spirit, co-owning Liberty Harley-Davidson in Akron alongside her former husband Ernie Passeos. Not only did she thrive in the business world, but Rose also became an ordained minister, officiating several "Harley Weddings, combining her love for people and motorcycles in memorable celebrations. 

Beyond her professional achievements, Rose was deeply committed to animal welfare and charity. An avid animal lover, she cared for numerous cats and dogs throughout her life, ensuring each one felt loved. Her charitable efforts extended through her work at the dealership, organizing events such as poker runs, concerts, and open houses, with proceeds often benefiting those in need both locally and nationally.
Rosemary's life was marked not only by her resilience, strength and her determination to succeed but her ability to continue to move forward.

Rose is survived by her sister, Angie Thompson Malicki (Paul Phillips); brother-in-law, Rich Arway; nieces, Renee Paterno (Bill) and Kris Arway; nephews, Michael Brent Arway (Eilleen) and Brian Arway (Isabelle); 11 great-nieces and nephews; 5 great-great-nieces and nephews; Ernie Passeos; Ernie Passeos Jr. and, Summer Passeos; and her devoted cat, Dyna; and a wide circle of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Alice Thompson; sister, Michele Arway; nephew, Richard Arway; and Greg Passeos.

Services for Rose will be held on September 14, 2024, at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd, Fairlawn, Ohio 44333. Calling hours are from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a service. Cremation for Rose has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rose's memory to One of A Kind Animal Rescue, Paws and Prayers, Akron Zoo, or Summit County Humane Society, reflecting her lifelong dedication to animal welfare.
