Ronald G. Noland, 74, passed away April 2, 2021 surrounded by his children.
Ron was born in Akron, Ohio to Glenn and Marion Noland. Growing up at Noland’s Service Station in Ghent and a Revere graduate (‘64), Ron set out in life to be his own boss. After trying other professions, Ron returned to the fuel business purchasing and operating Stoney Hill’s Station in Copley in 1975. If you’re from the area, then chances are you have at least driven by during these past decades as the Mobil sign changed to Amoco, then Citgo and currently Sunoco, or perhaps you were part of the early auto repair, drove into the Bee-hind Drive Thru or called to have your driveway plowed.
After a brief leave in the early ‘90s, Ron remodeled and opened with a convenience store focus, building a niche craft beer and wine selection. Many would think that Ron lived for his business, but those that truly knew him know that his business was only a tool and he lived life for his children and grandchildren.
His children, Tammy, Walter (Grace), and Wesley and his seven grandchildren will continue on in his legacy.
Friends and Family are welcome to a celebration of life / 75th birthday party, May 1, 2021 from 3-6pm at 2196 Rickel Dr.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in Ron’s memory to the Copley Fire Department.
