Roger Sansonetti, 62, passed away February 25th, 2021. Born in Akron, Roger grew up in Fairlawn and graduated from Copley High School Class of ’77. An auto mechanic by trade, Roger was exceptionally talented in understanding and fixing all things mechanical. He often mused that he could “fix anything but a broken heart or the crack of dawn”.
Roger was an outdoor power sports enthusiast and enjoyed boating, waterskiing, and snowmobiling in the UP of Michigan. He mastered the air-chair on water. He had many vacations with friends and family doing the outdoor sports that he so loved and spoke of these cherished times often.
Preceded in death by father, Joseph Sansonetti, cherished cousin Ricky, best buddy Russ Parker, and numerous aunts and uncles, Roger now rejoices in Heaven with God the Father who holds him in His loving arms.
Roger is dearly loved by his family who mourn his passing – mother, Adelia “Lu” Sansonetti, brothers Joseph Sansonetti Jr, Bob (Diana) Sansonetti, David (Teri) Sansonetti, and sister Luann Sansonetti- Spaethe. Roger is also survived by his Uncle Joe Marchetta, Aunt Helen Marchetta, and many cousins with whom he shared countless adventures throughout the years. Roger was especially fond of his nieces and nephews who will hold his memory dear. We send a very special thank you to Karim and Monica Hakim.
Roger had a zest for life, his own perspective on things, stood up for the weak and unprotected, and was a tender-hearted man. Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes - for those who love with their heart and soul, there is no such thing as separation.
