Robert L. Buehrle passed away at home on August 15th after a brief illness. Bob was born in Akron, Ohio on October 15th, 1926 to Clarence and Marie Buehrle. He graduated from Hower Vocational and went to work for Goodyear Aircraft. Several years later, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. Following his service, he returned to Goodyear Aircraft as a member of their Flying Squadron. He was awarded the PW Litchfield Medal of Honor for his distinguished service. Bob was a graduate of the Carnegie Mellon Executive Leadership Program. He also served as Plant Manager of the Department of Defense Division before retiring as Plant Engineering Manager of Loral in 1989.
Bob married Eleanor Kipp in 1949, who passed away in 1982 after a battle with cancer. He later married Jean Prada. He was a loving father to his two children, Becky (Patrick) Greenwald, and Kipp Buehrle, in addition to Jean's daughter Cynthia (Kelly) Curtis. He is survived by 9 grandchildren; Kevin (Sunny) Greenwald, Beth Greenwald, Michael Buehrle, Matthew Buehrle, Lauren (Chris) Junk, Emily (Anthony) Boarman, Kyle, Seth, and Grant Curtis, and 5 great grandchildren.
Bob also leaves behind a sister, Alleen (late Glen) Hilbish, brother Kenny and sister-in-law Rita (late Richard) Buehrle. He was predeceased by his brother Albert.
Calling hours 4-7p.m. Friday at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd. in Fairlawn.
Mass of Christian Burial 11a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery
