Raymond Stott Obituary

Raymond G. Stott, passed away April 4, 2022, at the age of 81. He was born November 12, 1940.

He spent most of his life in Ohio living in Akron, Norton, Cuyahoga Falls, and Stow. Raymond worked for 30 years at the Hardware and Supply Company in Akron. He was also a consultant with Market America until he retired. He was a graduate of Hoban High School in 1958 and Akron University in 1965. After college he served as a Captain in the Army and the Army Reserves, serving 8 year's from 1966 to 1974. While working he was Secretary of the Kiwanis Club of Akron and a member of the Norton Tax Review Board. He volunteered for several years as a tutor in the Akron Public school system after retirement. He was also an advisor to the University of Akron students studying for careers in marketing and military service through his fraternity Tau Kappa Epsilon. He was a member of VFW Post 1062 in Cuyahoga Falls, Acker Moore VFW Post 4738 in Stow, and the Moose Lodge 918 in Cuyahoga Falls.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gilbert.

He is survived by his daughter, Katie; grandson, Carlton; as well as his nephews, Michael and Danny; and his nieces, Debbie, and Mary Margaret.

Graveside Service 10am Friday at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will follow, 12pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1761 2nd St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the local VFW Post.
