Raymond J. Hanna, 86 years, a kind and gentle man died peacefully Monday, April 25, 2022.
Ray was born in Akron, Ohio August 2, 1935. He worked for the Akron Public Schools until his retirement.
He was an active member of St. Joseph Melkite Church where he could be found singing the liturgy, volunteering, cleaning and dressing as St. Nicholas on the feast day.
Ray also enjoyed working in his yard, which next to his wife, children, and grandchildren was his pride and joy.
He could also be seen riding his bicycle down W. Market Street sidewalks to Fairlawn Elementary School, where he was employed.
He will be sadly missed by his loving family, Carol, to whom he was married 58 years; son, Michael Hanna of Akron; daughter, Susan Boshara of Akron; daughter, Lynn Garro of Uniontown; son, Joel (Meghan) Hanna of Copley; grandchildren, Nicholas and Gabrielle Boshara. Dominic (Samantha), Vincent and Joseph Garro, Shaun, Colin, Ryan and Jillian Hanna.
Viewing will take place Tuesday, May 3 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church from 9:30-11:00 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to the family to be used to charities of each of his children's choice.
