On January 24, 2026, Patti A. Kelleher left this world joining her parents, husband (Bill), brothers (Joe and Gerry), sister (Marty) and grandchildren (Samantha and Miles) at the pearly gates. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her sons and their spouses (Tuck and Susan, Daniel and Rachelle, David and Lisa) as well as grandchildren (Halley, Jennifer, Timothy, Matthew and Drew) and great grandchildren (Edward, Rylee and Sadie).
Her whole life centered around compassion and caregiving. Due to Bill’s work at Goodyear, the Kelleher family lived in South Africa, Thailand and Australia before returning to Akron in 1975 where Patti continued to focus her life’s activities on her family. Patti faithfully attended all her children’s sporting events throughout high school and into college. When Bill retired from Goodyear, Patti actively supported him and his many bicycling adventures. After her sons were grown, she was able to pursue her passion of becoming a certified social worker/grief counselor, working at Rockynol for 16 years, followed by years of service with Hospice, St Hilary’s parish and Ciriello Funeral home.
Patti had other passions as well. She became involved with the Akron Children’s Hospital Christmas Tree Festival the second year the program started and she continued to volunteer with the organization for over 40 years; she was even the chairperson in the late 1980s. She lovingly attended to her backyard garden for 45+ years sharing many cuttings with family and friends. She very much enjoyed the lively conversations her book club had.
Patti A. Kelleher was loved by her family and the community; she impacted so many lives. A Celebration of Life will be held at St Hilary’s Catholic Church (2750 W. Market St, Fairlawn) on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 1230. Visitation will also be at the church starting at 11:30. There will be a private inurnment at All Saints Cemetery.
Concordia at Sumner, where Mom spent the last 15 months, did a fantastic job and should be publicly recognized. Specifically, the staff at the Perkins (Assisted Living) building helped Mom
recover enough to “graduate” to the Independent Living apartment. They are true Angels here on Earth.
