Patrick R. Meadows, 85, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2026.
Born on January 17, 1941, in Akron, Ohio, Pat lived a full and vibrant life marked by hard work, friendship, and a love for the outdoors. He graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1959 and briefly attended The Ohio State University, where he often fondly recalled having the opportunity to play golf with the legendary Jack Nicklaus.
Pat was an entrepreneur at heart, owning and operating a tire shop, a bowling alley, and a lumber company over the years. However, some of his most cherished memories and stories came from his time working at the many golf courses around the Akron area.
He had a love for planting flowers, mowing his lawn and being outside. He enjoyed spending his time playing golf in his younger years as well as playing cards at the casino. Pat will be remembered for his generous spirit, his stories, and the lasting friendships he built throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 31 years, Brenda Meadows; and his brothers, Jim and Bob Meadows.
Pat is survived by his daughter, Jamie (Mike) Mellinger; his beloved grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, and Marcus Mellinger; his sister, Susie Straits; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Dunphy, June Meadows and Skip Meadows, and brother-in-law, Alex Chaykoski.
