Nancy Tersigni Obituary

Nancy Lou Tersigni

Nancy Lou Tersigni, 90, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2021 in Huntsville, Alabama surrounded by loved ones.  Born in Kent, Nancy lived in West Akron most of her life.  She graduated from Stow High School in 1949 and from Kent State University in 1953.  In 1957 she married the love of her life, Vincent A. Tersigni, and they enjoyed 40 years of marriage together.  Vincent preceded her in death in 1997.  Nancy was also preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marion Nellis of Kent. She is survived by her daughters, Julie Tersigni of Huntsville, and Dr. Anne Marie Reidy and her husband, Dr. Thomas E. Reidy of Huntsville; son, Vincent J. Tersigni and his wife, Melissa A. Tersigni of Akron; grandchildren, Ginevra Cole and her husband Donovan of Westlake, Dr. Jessica Ivey and her husband David of Huntsville, Amanda Doiron and her husband Kyle of Nashville, Mark Tersigni and his wife Stephanie of Columbus, Victoria Tersigni of Columbus, and Isabella Tersigni of Chicago; and great-grandchildren, Luca  Cole, Rose Ivey, and Cullen Doiron. Nancy was an elementary school teacher as well as a flight attendant for American Airlines, which she considered her dream job. She loved spending time with her family -- especially attending her grandchildren’s many events. Earlier in Nancy’s life, she was an accomplished bridge player, and she also enjoyed playing golf and traveling.  Later in life she particularly enjoyed Cleveland sports, Swensons’ hamburgers, anything chocolate, and having dinner with her high school friends (the “49ers”) and family friend Mary Jo Mohlmaster.  Nancy was a long time member of St. Sebastian Parish and of Fairlawn Country Club.  In light of the pandemic, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial for family members will be held at St. Sebastian Church in Akron on October 15, 2021.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the St. Sebastian Parish Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
