Nancy E. Dines

Nancy Elizabeth (Stimpfel) Dines passed away on October 13, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family in Fairlawn, Ohio. She was born October 31, 1934 in Akron to the late Rudolf J. and Elizabeth M. Stimpfel. 

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Forrest Dines, a former pilot for Delta. She is survived by her niece, Leslie (McEnteer) Portwood and her great nephews Cameron (Kendra) Portwood and son Kane; and Marshall (Eryn) Portwood and daughters Aidan and Rheya; cousin Mary (Stempfel) Johnson; and sister Peggy (Stimpfel) Dickinson.

Nancy graduated Ellet High School in 1952 where she cheered. She was a hostess for Trans World Airlines and a long time member of the American Kennel Club where she obedience and field-trained many beloved Labrador Retrievers, as well as competed in AKC events. After moving from the Village of Lincolnshire, IL to Akron in 2003, she volunteered many hours at Gennesaret and the Peter Maurin Center serving the less fortunate.

The family will have a graveside service at a future date.
