Nancy J. Blanco (68) passed away on June 27, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born April 22, 1956, in Akron, OH and graduated from North High School. Nancy was a loyal employee of Akron Children's Hospital for over 30 years.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Vince and Jo Blanco.
She is also preceded in death by her best friends/cousins, Tammy Donzelli Gray and Laura Gerak-Gibbs
Nancy is survived by her sisters, Phyllis (John) Mesko and Jeanne (Larry) Sutter, her cherished nieces and nephew’s, J.J. (Chris) Mesko-Kimmich, Heather (Rick) Mesko-Ryba, Mark Mesko, Angela (Judd) Hartman, Larry (Chelsea) Sutter and her ten great nieces and nephews that she adored.
She will be remembered for her never ending laughter, kind heart, friendliness to everyone she met, and especially her positive outlook on life before and after her cancer diagnosis. As a true Sicilian she loved to eat, especially family dinners at local Italian restaurants. Nancy was always up for adventure, especially traveling, constantly looking for her favorite trinkets to add to her extensive collections of watches, clocks, music boxes and her photo collection.
Her favorite recent activity was attending People First Day Program where she was loved and will be missed. Nancy considered all the staff and clients her “Day Program Family”.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the People First Day Program & Transportation, 2300 Call Rd, Stow, OH 44224, to help support this great program, or gift cards to be given on special occasions.
Calling hours will be on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 9a-12p at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 South Miller Rd, Akron, OH 44333, with a mass of Catholic burial at 12:30pm at St. Hilary Parish 2750 W. Market St, Fairlawn, OH 44333, with a service at the Blanco Family mausoleum at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron, Ohio, immediately following the mass.
