Michael “Mac” Maloy, age 63, of Marshallville, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Michael was born on February 21, 1962, to the late Patricia Clemetson and Williard “Bill” Maloy. Growing up in Akron, Michael was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church and graduated from St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in 1980. He went on to earn his degree from The Ohio State University.
Following college, Mike returned home and dedicated more than 45 years of service to Toyota. Over the course of his career, he formed meaningful and lasting relationships with both coworkers and customers—bonds he deeply valued and held close to his heart.
To his family and friends, Mike will always be remembered for his love of Ohio sports, his lifelong passion for golf, and his dedication to serving the community through the Knights of Columbus, the Marshallville Lions Club, and his parish, St. Francis de Sales.
Those who knew Mike will remember his unparalleled kindness, humble demeanor, and genuine spirit. He was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his journey on this earth was marked by strength, compassion, and unwavering faith in God.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Teresa “Robin” Maloy; his children, Natalie and Jeff Gahan, Audrey Maloy, and Conner Maloy; and his beloved grandchildren, Elodie, Hayes, and Brooks Gahan. He is also survived by his siblings, Tim (Carrie) Maloy, Dan (Jamie) Maloy, Carrie (Kevin Wenger) Swanson, Gina (John) Miller, and Scott Maloy; and his step-siblings, Jill (Joe) Lancaster, Jan Olis, and Michael Shorder. He leaves behind cherished extended family, dear friends, and loyal customers.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Patricia and David Clemetson; his father and stepmother, Bill and Barbara Maloy; and his brothers-in-law, Eric Swanson and Aaron Olis.
May we remember his life not for the way it ended, but for the way it was lived—and for the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
