MaryAnn (Breiding) Rowan, passed away on March 30, 2026, at the age of 85 after a long and joyful life.
MaryAnn was born on October 5,1940 and lived her entire life on North Hill in Akron, Ohio. She attended St. Martha Grade School and graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1958. She retired from PNC Bank after 27 years of dedicated service as a bank teller. She enjoyed her time as a member, then president, of the North Hill Columbian Guild. MaryAnn was a lifetime member of St. Martha/Blessed Trinity Parish.
She will be remembered for her devotion to family as well as her love of gardening, puzzles, card games, Cleveland baseball and supervising home improvement projects. She had a fun, teasing sense of humor and was incredibly warm and kind. When she made a friend, it was for life as noted by the social club of her grade school friends who continued to meet for over fifty years. Her smile and fun personality will be missed by all who knew her.
MaryAnn is preceded in death by her parents (Ruth and Fred Breiding), sister Claudia Breiding and brothers Fred Breiding and Bill Breiding.
She is survived by John F. Rowan, her husband of 64 years and their four children, daughters: Lori Rowan, Julie (Jack) Kephart and Susie (Steve Dodds) Rowan, son Terry Rowan and grandsons Brady Rowan and Evan Rowan. She is also survived by sisters Martha Nix and Marilyn Breiding, brother Tim Breiding and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 09, 2026 from 4-6pm at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 810 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. Service will be Friday, April 10, 2026 at 11:00am at Blessed Trinity Parish, 300 E. Tallmadge Avenue, Akron, OH 44310.
