Martin A Constantine, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024, at the age of 65. Marty was born March 31, 1959, in Akron, OH to Thomas and Rita Constantine.
Marty spent the majority of his life in Cuyahoga Falls, OH where he was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church, attended St. Joseph Parish School and graduated from Walsh Jesuit High School in 1977. During his time in high school, Marty was a very successful football player, being named Akron Beacon Journal Player of the Year in 1976, though we would likely be getting one of his classic “Dad looks” for putting that in here. He was always one to focus on work with many years at Alside, Dietrich, and finishing out his work years at Chesterfield Steel, but his other favorite job was being a father. He enjoyed being present at football games, track meets, baseball games, basketball games, and dance recitals. One of his other great joys in life was fire trucks, and finding all of Akron’s fire stations - number 9 being his favorite because it was the last one he found. He enjoyed dinner with family - especially the constant (loving) banter with his mom, and joyrides all over northeast Ohio - usually ending with getting ice cream. He never took the big things too seriously, but heaven forbid the laundry not be done in a timely manner. Through all of this, he remained strong despite being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2002. He never wanted the focus to be on himself, and would want to learn about other people, be it at restaurants, at church, or at his many doctor's appointments.
Marty is preceded in death by his grandparents and parents, his brother, Edward, and his brother- in- law Andy Myers. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jodi; sons, Michael (Rachel), Thomas (Amy), David (Kim), and daughter, Patricia; four granddaughters, Cydnei, Mia, Myla, and Gianna; his brother, Mark (Millie) Constantine; sisters, Clare Myers, Jean (Dave) Springer, and Joan (Chuck) Eakin; sister-in-law, Julie Constantine; as well as many nieces and nephews.
