Marianna Roxbury Obituary

Marianna Kay Roxbury passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 8, 2024 at the age of
79.

Marianna was born on November 25, 1944 in Akron, Ohio to Delmont and Katherine Troxell.
She graduated from Stow High School in 1962, went on to study at The University of Akron, and
graduated with a degree in secretarial science in 1966.

Marianna met William Roxbury in 1966 when he rented an apartment on Brown Street in Akron
from Marianna’s grandmother, Mary Farris. He was struck by the vision of a beautiful woman in
a green velvet gown descending the stairs one morning when he visited to pay the rent. They
married in June of 1972 and lived in Hudson, first in Marianna’s family’s farmhouse, then in the
house where they would raise their children, the one they called their home. Their daughter,
Kimberly, was born in July of 1973, and their son, Kevin, in April of 1979.

Marianna worked at The Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Akron as executive assistant to
the head of the real estate department. Once she married, she focused on her growing family.
Later when her children were becoming independent, she became executive secretary to Eddie
Elias at Eddie Elias Enterprises.

While at Firestone, she was responsible for administration of global real estate holdings of the
company and the Firestone family. With that background, she was hired to manage Goodyear
leaseholds throughout the world and was a valued member of the real estate department at The
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company until she retired in 2009.
Marianna lived the Christian life she learned from the example of her mother, Katy, and her
grandmother, Mary Farris. She emulated their ethic in serving others and was always willing to
give generously of herself to help. She was a remarkable, strong woman, remembered for her
sense of humor and laugh and her ability to take charge when things needed to be done.
Marianna devoted her life to her family, and they were the center of her happiness. She spent
every day making life beautiful for those most dear to her and made an indelible mark on the
hearts of those who loved her.

Marianna is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, William Roxbury, son Kevin Roxbury
of Parma, daughter Kimberly Roxbury of Cuyahoga Falls, grandchildren Anthony Presutti and
Katherine Presutti, brother and sister-in-law James and Sandra Troxell of Hudson, and dear
friends Donald and Sue Bobak of Canton.

A private viewing has been held. Burial of her ashes, as well as a memorial celebration of her
life will be planned for a later time.

Marianna shared a respect and love for animals with her family and leaves behind her adored
dog Lulu and several family pets whom she loved, Dewey, Millie, Kaylee, Finn, and Cocoa. In
honor of the great joy and comfort pets always brought to her, memorial donations may be
made to PetFix Northeast OH, https://www.petfixnortheastohio.org/, an organization close to
Marianna’s heart.
