Margurite “Casey” Ahern

Margurite “Casey” Ahern, 89, of Akron passed away June 25, 2023 after a long illness.

Casey was born in Blackshear GA on February 26, 1934 to the late Harvey and Hazel Cason. She graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Jacksonville FL, married Lawrence Ahern and relocated to Akron. Casey continued her nursing career in Maternity at Akron City Hospital where she worked for more than 30 years.

A beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Casey enjoyed golf, bowling and travel. She cherished her family, especially her four grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and grace.

Casey is preceded in death by her husband and two brothers. She is survived by daughters Tracy (John) Christoff of Akron and Marie (Donald) Church of Pearisburg VA, step son Peter Ahern of Lincroft NJ, grandchildren Joseph and Caroline Christoff, and Sarah and Jessica Church. The family is grateful to Allie, Barb, Pat and Renata for their wonderful care, dedication, and friendship.

A celebration of life will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to One of a Kind Pet Rescue, First Congregational Church of Akron or charity of your choice.
