Our Beautiful Soul and Matriarch, Margie R. Plaster, 89, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2022 after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving children.
Margie was born in Akron, OH in 1932 and graduated from South High School. She was proud of her service at Ohio Bell as a supervisor of operators. Margie married the love of her life, Bernie, in 1957, and left her career to devote her time to her growing family. Together they raised 5 children, who, with their assistance in later years, helped her maintain her ability to remain at home. Margie also worked many years with her sister Jean, side by side with her son, Bradley, in his catering business, where she made many lasting friendships.
Margie found her happiness surrounded by her family and friends, and most often included a kitchen somewhere in the mix. Her table always had an extra seat, and you were never allowed to leave hungry. Her kindness and compassion to others roots to values instilled at an early age,“When in doubt, do the kindest thing”.
She was preceded in death by husband, Bernard; sisters, Esther (Ben) and Jean (Terry), and brother, Robert (Helen).
Surviving are children, Susan Simpson (Ronald), David (Kathy), Mark (Karen), Bradley and her Johnny, “adopted son” Brian Hurtt, many nieces and nephews, 8 grandchildren, 3 great- grandsons, and her beloved fur babies Eugene and Bertie.
A special thank you goes out to everyone involved with her care the last several years, and especially her daily aide Ivy Wootton and the amazing care team at Summa Akron City Hospital.
