Margaret “Peggy” Fate peacefully passed away on March 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She was surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, devotion, and an unbreakable spirit.
Born in Fairchance, PA, on March 18, 1935, to Jesse and Louise Jones, Peggy made Akron, Ohio her home for over 70 years. A proud graduate of Hower Vocational High School, she poured her creativity and talent into sewing, crafting beautiful clothes for her daughters and family, including a cherished wedding dress. Her hands stitched love into every fabric, including the well-worn blankets that comforted her grandchildren throughout their lives.
Peggy was the heart of her family—a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend—always ready with a warm embrace, a listening ear, and a quick-witted joke. Her sense of humor and kindness brightened the lives of all who knew her.
For 65 beautiful years, she shared her life with her beloved husband, John “Jack” Fate, the love of her life, until his passing in 2020. Their love story was one of unwavering commitment and deep affection.
She now joins in heaven her parents, Jesse and Louise Jones; her brother, James; her sons, John and James Fate; and her dear husband, Jack. She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her sister, Nancy Adkins; her daughters, Deborah (Mike) Keppler, Karen (Jimi) Pelfrey, and Pamela Marino (Thom Rohde); 10 adoring grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and countless nieces, nephews, and friends.
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Megan and the staff at Maplewood at Cuyahoga Falls, and the team at Crossroads Hospice for their unwavering support and compassionate care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd Fairlawn, OH where friends may call one hour prior to service time. Followed by interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Until then, we honor her by carrying forward the love, laughter, and strength she so freely gave.
