Margaret Jean (Peggy Regallis) Minor peacefully passed away in her sleep on May 16th, 2025 in her home, as she wished. She was born in Akron but she lived most of her life in Cuyahoga Falls. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School and retired from the Ohio Bell Telephone Company. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years Daniel C., parents Joseph and Ethel, sister Winifred (Jack) Leonhard, and brother Joseph (Madge) Regallis. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews from the Leonhard and Regallis families.
Aunt Peggy was an avid quilter, world-traveler, theater fanatic, chili aficionado, and adventure seeker. Seeing the world and traveling was incredibly important to Peggy. She and Uncle Dan lived in Mesa, AZ for several winters where she fell in love with the red-rock country and the Wild West. She took many trips for leisure and fun, but also traveled to both Paducah, KY and Ripley, WV to take classes and work on her beautiful quilts. Peggy was known locally as the “Beet Lady” who always wanted the beets off of anyone's salad. She had some great one-liners such as, “Other than that Mrs. Lincoln...how was the play?” and “Who has more fun than people?” and others that aren’t as print friendly. Peggy never turned down a cold Bud Light Orange or a Washington Apple. She had at least 4 cats in her life and was the self-appointed caretaker to all the neighborhood animals, she would’ve taken them all in if she could. She never passed up an opportunity to be with family, planning the annual family reunions, and learning about the family’s history, being the in-house genealogist. She was dedicated to her faith, being a parishioner of St. Mary’s and St. Joseph’s as well never missing a first Friday mass; friends, enjoying her weekly burgers and cards; and neighbors, she was especially more like family with her long-time neighbor, Sharon McClain and many others on her street. Special thanks and appreciation go to the Summa Hospice Team who took care of her in the last weeks of her life. She was fiercely independent and would not allow them to help much before they began. Even when battling cancer, Aunt Peggy did it her way. She will be greatly missed for her fun-loving antics and attitudes.
