Margaret Cullen Obituary

Margaret Rose (“Meg”) Cullen, 67, died peacefully December 15 after a brief illness. Special in every way, Meg was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She also lived in Baltimore, Maryland, and St. Paul, Minnesota, returning to Ohio in 1994. She is a proud graduate of Rolling Road School in Baltimore, and Christ Child School and Bridge View School in St. Paul. For nearly 30 years, she was a devoted member of the Faith and Light Community, singing in the choir at the annual retreat. A caring friend to all who knew her, Meg loved animals, classical music, dancing, piano lessons, and planning concerts at Carnegie Hall.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Terrence and Genevieve Cullen, sister Mary Clare LaPorte (Daniel, deceased), and brother Michael James. She is survived by sisters Kathleen Kochanski (Deacon Robert, deceased) and Jean Cullen; brothers Charles Cullen and Joseph Mayo-Cullen (Alexandra); nephew Rev. Joseph Kochanski (Laura), and nieces Anne Kochanski, Patricia Kochanski, and Katherine Kochanski; great niece Lola Gonzalez, and great nephews David Rosiak, Kenneth Kochanski, Max Gonzalez, Thomas Kochanski, and Robert Kochanski; and numerous cousins.

Meg will be dearly missed by her family and friends, especially Bill and Kathy McSherry; roommates Molly, Denise, and Mary, and the entire staff at the Nob Hill home of Ardmore, Inc.; and co workers and staff at United Disability Services. Meg’s family is grateful to Dr. Joel Rayl and all Summa Health providers who cared for Meg with such compassion.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Frank Basa at 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, at St. Bernard Church, 44 University Ave., Akron 44308. Calling hours are 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec.21, at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 810 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221.

In Meg’s memory, the family suggests donations to St. Bernard Church; Ardmore Foundation, 981 E. Market St., Akron 44304; or United Disability Services, 701 S. Main St., Akron, OH 44311.
