Margaret Capatosto

Margaret Capatosto (Wanstreet), 95, of Cuyahoga Falls, died peacefully on Jan. 08, 2024 and has been reunited with husband, Ornellio, in the presence of our Lord and Savior. Margaret was born in Ravenna, Ohio on July11, 1928, the daughter of Peter M. and Margaret Wanstreet, and graduated from Ravenna High school in 1946. She was able to achieve her dream of being a beautician. She owned Marge’s Beauty shop in Cuyahoga Falls, before marrying Ornellio Capatosto in 1957. She raised their family of six children, Marla (Mark) Kinkaid, Daniel (Carla), Carol (Yeong) Jiang, Matthew (Chris), Marie (John) Jansen and Randell (Natalie). She was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Her sweet, gentle soul will be dearly missed by everyone. Margaret loved to sew, crochet and was always ready to play a game of cards or rummi cube with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling with her family and later with her husband. After retirement, they went on numerous trips with their union friends. She loved bowling with friends Micki and Louise. She nearly achieved her goal of bowling a 200 game but fell one pin short. She enjoyed crocheting afghan blankets and hats for friends and relatives, solving puzzles and coloring in her books. She also did work for Catholic charities and the American cancer society.
Margaret is survived by her brother Paul (Mary, deceased) Wanstreet and preceded in death by her husband Ornell Capatosto, parents Peter and Margaret Wanstreet, brothers Mike (Sid ) and Leon and sisters Maxine (Bob) Rettig and Helen (Lon) McArthy and her dear friend, Gerry Snyder.
Sincere thanks to her care givers, Regina, Vicki, Arlene and Bonnie who loved her and took incredible care of her, the Cuyahoga Falls paramedics who showed up many times these past few years and Western Reserve Hospital who also went above and beyond to keep her comfortable in her last hours. Special thanks to Father Jared Orndorff of St. Joseph church for taking time between Sunday morning mass to perform last rights.

Mass of Christian Burial 10a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
