Madeline Bozzelli Obituary

October 17, 1927-May 12, 2022

After celebrating a beautiful Mothers day with 3 generations of children, Madeline decided it was her time to leave this earth on May 12, 2022 with a beautiful peaceful passing with family and clergy at her side.

If you ever visited live theaters, the ballet, the inventors or art museum, voted in an election or donated blood, went to the YMCA, read a book, visited the Christmas Tree Festival,if you ever were a Scout, participated in the Soap Box Derby or walked on the Erie Canal Towpath Trail, if you used the services of Summa Health, Western Reserve, Children’s or St Thomas Hospital, if you suffered from diabetes, cancer, heart problems, blindness, mental health issues, mental handicapped or homelessness, if you were an immigrant who needed help to settle in the area,or needed to learn how to read, write and spell.

If so, then you were touched by Madeline.

Madeline used her special talent of raising funds for the betterment of humanity and  her community.

Madeline broke glass ceilings when she never even knew there was a ceiling to break.

She was the first woman president of the Akron Kiwanis club. Chairman of the Summit County Democrat party, Guest conductor of the Akron Sympathy Orchestra, Citizen of the year with Knights of Columbus.

When asked, she never said no. She always wondered why more people did not say yes.

Madeline leaves behind her loving husband of 75 years, Libert; children, Dennis Bozzelli, Marlene and Eric Czetli, Kathleen and Bernie Hovey, Tom Bozzelli and Ken Pollard; grandchildren, Eric Czetli and Danica Deering, Aaron Czetli and Brandi Benson, Alison and Mike Van Raaphorst, Scott Hovey and Maria Novelli Kirby, Brent and Christina Hovey, Lauren Hovey,  Karen Devenport; great-grandchildren,Dylan, Eric, Darian, Dominick Czetli , Michael, Caroline, Grant Van Raaphorst, Addison, Emma, Chase, Annalise, Giuliana, Rocco Hovey.
