Louise Nicholas Obituary

Louise Nicholas passed away on July 16, 2025. She was born in Akron, Ohio to Olga and Vincent Conroy on August 7, 1934, the oldest of seven children.

Louise attended Annunciation Grade School, Saint Mary High School, and the University of Akron, where she met her husband, Nick. She was a long-time member of Annunciation Parish.
Although primarily a stay-at-home mom, Louise was employed at various times by Ohio Bell, the Akron Auto Club, and Saint Thomas Hospital. She was a member of the Hoban Mothers' Club, and a long-time volunteer at Akron City Hospital.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband Don Nicholas (Nick), parents Olga and Vincent Conroy, brother Joe, brother and sister-in-law Jack and Anna, brother David, brother Dan, brother-in-law Charles Guisinger, son-in-law Tom Gall, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ruth and Gene Doran. She is survived by her children: Jim (Lisa), Cheryl Gall, Marty (Barb), John (Sue), and Leanne Bartholet (Steve Olschewske); Grandchildren: Brandon, Aaron, Jacob, Evan, Noah, Aubree, Nicholas, Christopher, Eve, Paul and Mark; Great-grandchildren: Addie and Ben; sister Cathy Guisinger, brother Bernie (Flor), and sister-in-law Rose Conroy, along with many nieces, nephews, friends, and her beloved cat, Jinx.

Raising five children was Mom's greatest joy and proudest achievement. Her love, compassion and steady strength shaped us, and we never went without. She was humble, radiant with her warm smile and sparkling blue eyes, and never afraid to "get her Irish up."

We find peace in knowing Mom is reunited with Dad in Heaven. Mom, thank you for a lifetime of love. We will carry your memory always and miss you beyond words.
