Our Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Wife and Friend was called to Heaven this past weekend, due to Parkinson’s since 2020. Linda graduated from Old Trail School in 1960 and in her later years loved being “Miss Pick a Pocket” for their May Days Event. Then attending Otterbein College meeting her husband John and joining the Sorority, Theta Nu.

Her and John had 61 years of marriage. Her joy was loving her kids and grandchildren. She helped with the Soap Box Derby being active with the Akron JWCC’s, appointed to Summit County Juvenile Court Guardian ad Litem and in the 70’s was an Akron Children’s Candy Striper/Volunteer. She was a member and past president of Akron Women’s City Club (50years), Akron Civic Theater Guild and Chairman of Day of the Races. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and FWCC. She was involved with Copley Home Owner’s Assoc., Summit County Board of Elections for years and was a Bath Softball coach for years. You would see her enjoying card playing with the ladies and in bowling and golf leagues. Linda has friends in Ohio and Nashville, TN; places where they have lived. One favorite place they went to in the summers was Cook’s Forest, Penn., which included the whole entire family. Linda was a fun-loving person, a giver with a big heart and loved her friends as well as making new ones.

Mom was a dedicated and insightful person and wife; her advice was usually right on point. At times you would not leave from visiting her without a pocket of candy. She is survived by her husband John and daughters Kimberly Steel (Greg) and Lucinda Liezert (Tim). Grandkids: Evan Steel (Sia), Katie Molnar (Will), Kenzie Liezert, Alyssa Steel and Adam, Kristi Liezert.

The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia in Copley, Ohio, Ohio Living Hospice, Senior Helpers Homecare, and Lilly Homecare for Home Aids.

Calling hours are Saturday July 13th at 10am to 11am with a short service following immediately at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home at 39 S. Miller Road in Fairlawn, Ohio.
