Leah Joanne Mazzaferro (Bann)

Leah Joanne Mazzaferro (Bann) passed away November 28, 2022.

She was born on January 20, 1934 and was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio. She was a graduate of The University of Akron. While attending Akron U she joined Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She also met her husband Joseph. Their romance began on the football field as he was an Akron U football player and she was a cheerleader. Their love of football spanned their years of marriage as they returned to Akron U for many games and cheered on the Cleveland Browns.

Leah taught first grade at Lincoln Elementary until she had her daughters. She later went on to work for Attorney Dean E. Smith.

She was devoted to her family and loved to cook for them. She made sure every gathering was special. There were many wonderful memories, one of her favorites was going to Big Star Lake, Michigan with family and friends for many summers.

Leah was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; and her parents, Peter and Beulah Bann.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynda (Mark) Miller and Lisa (Tom) Wainwright; grandchildren, Cody, Brice and Leah Miller, Connor and Rory Wainwright.

A private family burial has already taken place.
