Kathy Monk Obituary

Kathy L. Monk (King), age 71, passed peacefully on December 11, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with breast and bone cancer. She was born on September 18, 1954, in Huntington, West Virginia, and carried the warmth, resilience, and kindness of her roots with her wherever life led.

A devoted Christian, Kathy lived her life guided by faith, grace, and a gentle spirit. Through every challenge, she leaned on the Lord with unwavering trust. She now rests in His eternal peace—free from pain, fully restored, and surrounded by His love.

Kathy spent her life in Huntington, West Virginia, and later in Cleveland, Richfield, and North Royalton, Ohio, where she built a life centered around family, meaningful connections, and simple joys. She loved nature and camping—especially at Willow Lake Park—family gatherings, traveling, flea markets, shopping, and decorating her home. She also enjoyed bingo nights, visits to the casino, and cherished her favorite treats: JuJu Coins, Hot Tamales, and PayDay candy bars.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vada and William King, and other beloved family members, and is now joyfully reunited with them in the presence of the Lord.

Kathy leaves behind a legacy of love as a devoted mother to her daughters, Kitty, Nancy, and Katie. She is also lovingly remembered by her son-in-law, Ron; her brother, Randy; her nephew, Andrew; her great-nieces and great-nephews; her aunts; and many cherished cousins, friends, and extended family.

Kathy shared companionship with her boyfriend, Elvis, and was formerly married to Timothy Monk, with whom she shared part of her life’s journey.

Kathy will be remembered for her kind heart, thoughtful nature, and the love she so freely gave to others. Her faith, warmth, and gentle presence touched many lives and will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply and forever missed.
