Kathryn Rose Johnson passed away on May 31, 2022. She was born August 14, 1930, to Noah and Mathilda Reisner on the family farm in Lotts Creek, Iowa. Kate lived most of her adult life in Akron, Ohio with a few years in South America. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Vernell and Vernon.
Kathryn is survived by Walter her husband of 69 years; sons, Randolph (Debbie) of Denver, CO and Warren (Casey) of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Matthew (Bernie), Jessica (Austin) and Caleb; great-grandchildren, Noah, Ann, Walter, Sullivan, Thatcher and Mary.
Kate graduated in 1952 from Iowa State Teachers College (now the University of Northern Iowa) which led to a lifelong vocation of teaching and tutoring math. She was an active member of Fairlawn Lutheran Church and an avid gardener, seamstress, and knitter. Kate dearly loved her family and friends. She was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Fairlawn Lutheran Church Church at 11:30a.m. Rev. James Gau officiating, followed by a luncheon. Private inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
