Kathleen "Kathy" (O'Neill) Davis

Kathy O'Neill Davis, 63, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.  Born on June 4, 1963, in Park Forest, Illinois, Kathy was the beloved daughter of the late Jim and Rosie O'Neill. She grew up with a deep love for family, faith, and friendship—values that remained the foundation of her life.  

Kathy was a devoted member of St. Hilary Parish. She attended the University of Akron, where she was a proud member of the Delta Gamma sorority, forming friendships that lasted a lifetime.  

Nothing brought Kathy more joy than being with the people she loved. Whether she was gathering with family, enjoying time with her many cousins, hosting lively poker parties, sharing Friday night dinners with friends, camping, or attending concerts, Kathy had a gift for making every occasion special. Her warm smile, generous spirit, and contagious laughter made everyone feel welcome.

Kathy and her husband also opened their hearts and home by serving as foster parents through Akron Children & Services for many years.  Together, they provided love, stability, and hope to countless children, leaving a lasting impact on many lives.  

Above all else, Kathy treasured her family. Her most happy & memorable times was her Wedding Day & celebration after. Even though she did not want the Chicken Dance, when the DJ played it, she was mad, until she asked who requested it. It was Rosie! The Adoption Day and reception was the second most important & joyful days of her & Kurt’s lives. Those 2 little cuties were now in our loving care. The family times at “The Lake” were the best times. Also, the trips to the Golden Nugget with her Mom, Dad, Sister & also with Regan, one of her best friends were memorable and so much fun too. Of course, Winning the Garnet Red Mustang in November of ’06 was her & Kurt’s 15 mins of fame.

She will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering love, generous heart, and the joy she brought to those fortunate enough to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of compassion, faith, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. 

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Kurt; children, Lisa & Brad (Rowan) grandchildren, Gwen & AJ, sister Laura, and other surviving family members. In addition to her parents, Jim and Rosie O'Neill, she was preceded in death by others we hold very deeply in our hearts. 

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kathy's life at St. Hilary Parish, 2750 West Market St., Fairlawn, OH 44333.  Calling hours are one hour prior from 11:00 am - 12:00pm.  Followed by the Memorial Service at Noon & Lunch reception after service.  Her interment will follow at a later time with a private ceremony at Holy Cross Cemetery.
