Joseph Pisciotta Obituary

Joseph Basil Pisciotta, a cherished husband, father, and friend passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024 and the age of 99. Born on January 15, 1925, in Akron, Ohio Joseph lived a life full of adventure and love.

Joe proudly served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1945 during World War II, participating in significant campaigns in Normandy, Eastern France, Central Europe, and Rhineland. His bravery and dedication to his country were a source of pride for his family and community.

In 1947 Joseph married the love of his life, Cassie Pisciotta. Together, they built a loving family and Joe embraced Cassie’s Tennessee roots and her family with open arms. He was a devoted husband and father who instilled values of hard work and humor in his children.

Throughout his life, Joe was known for his love of bowling, fishing, and sharing jokes that brought smiles to those around him. Joe retired as a tool and die machinist from Goodyear aerospace. He was also a talented painter, leaving a mark on numerous local business in the Akron area with his artistic contributions.

Joe will lovingly be remembered by his children Pamela (Tom) Buescher, Beverly (Brian) Rood, and Joseph (Erin) Pisciotta. His grandchildren Brittany, Lauren, Megan (Ryan), Joseph (Brittany) Kyle, Samantha, and Chad. His great grandchildren Liam, Hadley, and Caston.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday December 2, 11:00 am at Visitation of Mary Parish, 55 Broad St. Akron, OH 44305, where friends may call one hour prior to service. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local veterans organization in his memory.
