Jill Marie (Fickey) George

Jill Marie (Fickey) George, 66, was a bold and resilient woman whose life touched the hearts of all who knew her. She was called home to the Lord on April 29, 2023, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on April 12, 1957, in Akron, Jill grew up in Northampton and attended Woodridge High School, where she graduated in 1975.

She pursued her passion for art and design at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where she earned a degree in Commercial Interior Design in 1981.

She lived and worked in Pittsburgh as a member of the store design department at Giant Eagle for many years. Jill's talent and creativity were evident in the beautiful floral arrangements she created throughout her life.

Jill's life was marked by a series of health challenges, but she never let them define her. Her positive outlook and fighting spirit were an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a compassionate person, always willing to lend an ear and provide support to those in need. Her unwavering love for her family and friends was at the center of her life, and she cherished the time she spent with them.

Jill was preceded in death by her parents, Rosemary and Robert; sister, Lori; brother, Ken, and long-time partner, Patrick Dougherty. She is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack (Judy), Ben (Denise), Brian (Karen), and Karl (Pam); and her husband, Bob George. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the calling hours on Friday, May 5, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Homes, located at 810 Portage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls. The Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 6, at the Northampton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc.

Jill Marie George will be remembered as a beautiful soul whose kindness, creativity, and fighting spirit moved all those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
