Janet Marlene Hogsett

Janet Marlene Hogsett of Peninsula passed away on 07/19/2025 after a short illness.

She was born on December 31, 1941, in Cleveland Ohio to Fred and Marjorie Buchholz and lived in the area all her life.

She graduated from Euclid High School in 1959.  After graduating, she worked for SOHIO for several years until getting married and having a family--which became her life's work. She was a member of Redeemer Church, was heavily involved with her children's school lives and a Girl Scout troop leader--first for her sisters, and later for her daughter. She loved her soap operas and game shows, was always reading books, doing crossword puzzles, and enjoyed bowling and gardening. She liked to cook and bake and was famous for her cookies at Christmas and Special Occasions.

She and her husband Jim loved to travel--taking many trips with her family around the country to National Parks and historic sites. She loved all Cleveland sports teams (especially the Cavs) but was even more excited supporting her children and grandchildren in their many school activities and sports.

Jan was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be remembered for her great heart, passionate conversations, room-filling laughter, and fierce devotion to all that she loved.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Jim, her parents Fred and Marjorie, and her brother Paul.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Carlisle (Jeff), son Brian Hogsett (Laura), grandchildren Brandon and Joey, sisters Evelyn Stephens (Rick), Lenore Hughes (Brad), Lynda Scripp (Roy), Carol Keller (Harry), brothers in laws Larry Palmisano and Steve Bleich, many nieces and nephews and also friends.

Services will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 12 pm at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 810 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, where friends may call from 11 am until time of service.
