James "Jim" A. Sausaman

James A. “Jim” Sausaman, 72, of Akron, passed away May 22, 2023, after a brief illness.

Born in Akron, Mr. Sausaman lived most of his life in the area. He graduated from Woodridge High School in 1969. During the Vietnam War he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Shangri-La. He had retired from the Carpenters’ Local Union No.285.

Preceded in death by his wife, Karen (née Gerry). He is survived by his children, Brian and Jodi Sausaman; brother, John (Sue) Sausaman; grandchildren, Julianna Sausaman, Odin Peoples, and Karah Poore. 

Funeral services 11a.m. Thursday at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 810 Portage Tr. in Cuyahoga Falls, where friends may call 10-11a.m.
