James (Jim) C. Macy
Obituary
James (Jim) C Macy died peacefully in his sleep at home on Thursday, July 27, 2023, after deteriorating health.
Born October 13, 1935, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Ruben Sidney Macy and Irene Beuhneman Macy, he graduated from State University of Iowa (University of Iowa) in 1957 with a Bachelors of Engineering and ROTC service and served in the Army Corps of Engineers, discharged as a Captain. He spent his career in food systems engineering with Cherry Burrell, The Kitchens of Sara Lee, Miller Brewing Company, Stouffer Foods, Nestle and AG Processing. He played piano most of his life and enjoyed playing Chopin, Beethoven, Debussy and Scott Joplin Rags.
Preceded in death by his wife Nancy (nee Boyle) Macy, his parents, sisters, Sandra and Judith and brother, Richard. He is survived by children B Andrew Macy, Catherine (Kate) B Macy and C Matthew Macy and grandchildren Eric Walters and Scarlett Macy.
Calling hours will be Friday, August 11, 2023, from 12:00 to 1:30pm at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd. in Fairlawn, with interment to follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to the V Foundation at donate.v.org.
