James “Jim” Frame, 77, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away unexpectedly on May 8, 2025, while enjoying a spring morning in his yard—a place took great pride in caring for.
Jim was born in Spencer, West Virginia, to Marie Watkins and was lovingly raised by his grandmother, Susan Watkins. In his later youth, he moved to Akron, Ohio with his mother and sister Lucy, where he would eventually put down deep roots.
In 1966, Jim proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served two tours in Vietnam. A decorated veteran, he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with four stars, and two Good Conduct Medals in recognition of his honorable service and sacrifice.
Following his military service, Jim built a long and steady career in chemical manufacturing, retiring from Omnova in Mogadore. A devoted Cleveland sports fan, he could often be found cheering for the Guardians, Browns, Cavaliers, and Ohio State Buckeyes. He had a deep love for reading and was especially fond of music—rhythm and blues, folk, and grassroots sounds that brought him back to his West Virginia roots.
Jim was a natural storyteller, and those who knew him will remember the vivid, often unforgettable stories he told about his time in Vietnam. His compassion, generosity, and unwavering kindness left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He had a true heart of gold and will be missed tremendously.
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances Frame, and his cherished son, William Frame. He is survived by his treasured granddaughter, Elaina Frame; his sister, Lucy (Paul) Bailey; sisters-in-law Janet Doria, Marianne (Chuck) Woodward, and Theresa (Greg) Heilmeier; daughter-in-law Kristen Enering; step-grandson Nevin Enering; and many loving cousins, family members, and friends.
Jim is now reunited with Frances and William in the afterlife, bringing peace and comfort to those who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 13th at 1:00 pm at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 810 Portage Trail Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
