Irene "Joan" Rogerson

Irene “Joan” Rogerson, age 88, passed away on January 15, 2021. Joan was born June 24, 1932 in Akron to Harold and Viola Cleveland.

She was a graduate of Buchtel High School and worked at Ohio Edison and Twelgren Records. Joan was married to the love of her life, John "Jack" Rogerson for 55 years and were longtime residents of Bath, Ohio.

Joan was an active member of St. Hilary Catholic Church, where she shared her deep faith through involvement in many activities. She always believed in the power of prayer. Joan was a past member of Bath Volunteers for Service, loved her walking group “The Blahs”, going to lunch with her many friends, spending time with her grandchildren, and vacations to the beach.

Joan was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a 30 year cancer survivor and overcame much adversity, always with a positive attitude, before being called by our Lord.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Viola Cleveland; and her husband, John Rogerson. She is survived by her son, Gregory (Paula) Rogerson of Copley; son, Mark (Tina) Rogerson of Poquoson, Virginia; daughter, Julie (Ralph) Genovese of Green; eight grandchildren, Lauren, Steven, Megan, Melissa, Deanna, Jordan, Nick and Jared; and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Wesley; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial 11am Monday, January 25 at St. Hilary Catholic Church in Fairlawn, where friends may call one hour prior to service time. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
